Good Morning,

I’m going to be covering Quantum news more on the AI side of things this morning briefly. Strange what startups end up becoming in their various pivots.

Multiverse Computing is a curious business, a company was founded in 2019 by Enrique Lizaso Olmos, Román Orús, Alfonso Rubio-Manzanares and Samuel Mugel, PhD.

Multiverse Computing is not a theoretical physics concept—it is a leading quantum software company. It’s also among the best use cases of how Quantum could be impacting Generative AI.

For instance, it is widely considered a global leader in AI model compression, which means it uses techniques derived from quantum computing to implement large AI language models with more than half the cost and energy consumption.

The company is suddenly a European Unicorn, somehow raising a Series C round of €500m. Does Quantum computing or Quantum software have implications for Generative AI? It might be the best case study I have seen thus far.

You see, Headquartered in Donostia in Spain, Multiverse has developed a technology dubbed CompactifAI, which leverages a methodology inspired by quantum physics to compress large AI models. At a time when Spain (and France, and Canada) is burning in wild fires, that’s interesting.

“It has grown annualised revenue more than 10x since its June 2025 Series B, with Q1 2026 sales up 96x year on year.”
