Infleqtion launches as ColdQuanta's Brand Name Pivot announced at Quantum World Congress
Savvy strategy is at work in Colorado for the future of Quantum
Hey Everyone,
I definately have my favorites in the Quantum computing landscape, and this brand name change is really smart.
ColdQuanta remains as the R&D name.
ColdQuanta is the Research and Components Division of Infleqtion.
ColdQuanta, now Infleqtion, is uniquely well diversified to actually generate revenue in the coming years imho. Time will tell, real revenue and Quantums startups are not something that are going well together in 2022 (content below paywall).
This announcement has not been widely covered in PR circles, here is how they describe themselves on the new website:
Introducing Infleqtion
It’s time to take quantum out of the lab and move from quantum hype to quantum deployed. Built on ColdQuanta’s 15 years of pioneering quantum research, we’re proud to announce we’re launching Infleqtion.
At Infleqtion, we are building an ecosystem of quantum technologies and commercial products for today, driving us – and the entire industry – toward tomorrow.
We’re pushing quantum to its limit and leading from the edge.
Quantum computing startups need to be ruthlessly realistic for the reality of today, since Venture Capital is slowing down due to higher interest rates and other factors heading into 2023.
Infleqtion gives me that confidence as an amateur analyst.
Announced at the Quantum World Congress
Quantum World Congress is the first-ever gathering of its kind (late November to early December, 2022) – connecting the world’s quantum ecosystem, including the brightest researchers, innovators, technology developers, legislators, and industry experts – to accelerate the value of the growing quantum industry.
For more details you can read the post by Kenna.
The announcement was made on November, 30th, 2022.
According to Sarah Schupp, the Vice President of Marketing and Communications at Infleqtion, the umbrella brand gives a new face for commercial partners, as well as a goal for where the company hopes to be in the future. Infleqtion connects research with sales, commercial development, acquisitions and outreach in a seamless way.
Time will tell if Infleqtion can drive real world revenue more effectively than the Quantum SPACs that rushed to go public and now find themselves growing perhaps slower than anticipated.
I did not attend the Quantum World Congress, so I’m a bit late to the news.
So just how much are the Big 3 struggling to drive revenue:
