Google Quantum Chip Breakthrough with Willow

Google Quantum wants you to know! 🌌

Back in 2019 Google Quantum made some Quantum Supremacy claims that turned out to be a bunch of PR. Well, it’s our lucky day, they are at it yet again. How should I even begin to cover such hyperbole? Google is desperate to be seen on par with the likes of IBM, Microsoft and Amazon who are investing increasingly in Quantum computing and its future.

Google’s PR assault today came with clickbait titles like “Google unveils ‘mindboggling’ quantum computing chip” and cheesy quotes. The irony is that this year Google has actually made some legit partnerships in the space. But to imagine that Google or spin-off SandboxAQ are leaders in the space, is a bit far fetched still in 2024.

So how should I “boggle my mind” even before real Quantum computers have scale have arrived?
