Classiq Series B Means Global Expansion 👽🚀
Classiq expands Series B to $49M and Announces Japan and Europe Offices
Hey Everyone,
I’m a huge fan of Classiq, and they recently announced their Series B.
Classiq is revolutionizing the process of developing quantum computing software. I have in the past predicted they will be acquired by Microsoft, likely in 2024 or 2025 and I stand by that.
They have essentially announced another significant expansion of its series B round to $49M by Canadian-Israeli VC Awz Ventures, from an initial closing of $36M by strategic investors—in the largest quantum software round to date.
The company also announced near-term growth in Japan and Europe, opening local offices in the next months.
It is believed to be the largest quantum software round to date. The truth is, we don’t really know the ceiling of quantum machine learning and the evolution of what software on quantum machines of the future might look like.
“Awz Ventures is excited to be partnering with Classiq’s exceptional leadership team to fulfill the quantum revolution’s promise,” said Awz Ventures Founder & Managing Partner Yaron Ashkenazi.
“Classiq’s vision is impressive, coupled with a clear business plan that harnesses quantum computing’s commercial potential today. We have high hopes for Classiq and look forward to our continued collaboration.”
Awz Ventures is a Canadian-Israeli, multi-stage, venture capital firm investing in commercial applications of innovative AI-based, deep-tech, fintech, cyber security, and intelligence technologies.
This means Classiq have now raised $64.3 million in a relatively short time. Their software technology helps teams model, synthesize, and analyze quantum circuits that were previously impossible to create.
World Class R&D Teams
Along with significantly growing its R&D team (to increase from 50 to 100 workers in 2023), the firm also announced near-term growth in Japan and Europe, opening local offices in the next months.
In addition to adding new offices and bringing on new customers and investors, Classiq forged new partnerships this year with Amazon, ColdQuanta, and NVIDIA, in order to streamline quantum experimentation and accelerate the enterprise path to quantum advantage.
